Djokovic在受訪時,提及他小時候,家庭生活並不穩定,因為他生在戰亂時代。在他四歲那一年,他開始愛上網球。他在他父親開的餐館旁的網球場打球。他父親給了他一個小球拍,開始他的網球生涯。

 

他也成為了他兩個弟弟的榜樣,教他們練球,也給他們許多指導。三兄弟都離鄉背井,在外地打拼。Djokovic承認,這無疑對他母親是個傷心的事情。不過,他的父母尊重他們選擇的路,讓他們展翅飛翔。如果沒有父母的成全,Djokovic也無法有今天的成就。

"We didn't have a childhood that is similar to some of our generation of tennis players because we grew up during the war.
