在台灣連鎖品牌的效應雖然沒有國外那麼的大，不過，還是有很多本土品牌以連鎖的方式在經營，以小吃來說，像是四海遊龍、鬍鬚張、五十嵐等餐飲品牌，都是我們熟悉的牌子。今天這篇文章就跟大家分享，世界各地有哪些franchises是當紅或是你到當地旅遊不容錯過的呢?
Franchise就是加盟的意思，franchisee是加盟店。另外，有時候我們會說連鎖餐廳，英文則是chain restaurants。Chain是鎖鍊的意思。
20. Cinnabon
Country of origin: United States
Why we love it: A cinnamon roll big enough to use as a pillow when you slip into a sugar coma.
源自於美國的肉桂捲，Cinnabon出名的是它巨大的size，大到可以當枕頭睡! Slip into就是滑進去，在這裡是指躺在巨大的cinnamon roll，隨口就可以吃到甜到心頭的滋味，讓你填到進入 “sugar coma” 甜蜜的夢鄉。Coma 通常是在說一個人昏迷不醒。

Why we love it: Freedom from buses, trains,scooters, bikes, pack mules, etc.
法國的一家租車公司。Freedom from 就是指某件事情可以讓你遠離一些事情，比方說 freedom from noise 遠離噪音，freedom from stress 遠離壓力

Why we love it: Since most people base their knowledge of Australia on "Crocodile Dundee," the restaurant feels completely authentic.
Authentic 這個字眼可以用來形容一個事情可信度非常高。用在這邊形容這家餐廳模擬澳洲風味非常的真實，讓你彷彿置身其中。Crocodile Dundee是一部很紅的澳洲喜劇電影，男主角的穿著有點類似西部牛仔那樣。
17. Panda Express
Country of origin: United States
Why we love it: Easy place to enjoy a Chinese banquet, even if you don't have any Chinese friends.
Banquet 通常是用來表示飯店的宴會廳(Banquet Hall)。在這裡是指中式料理饗宴的意思。Panda Express是美國的一家中餐連鎖店，口味是大部份外國人喜歡吃的。當我們要說一個地方很方便，可以用easy來表示。
16. Marks & Spencer
Country of origin: United Kingdom
Why we love it: For 129 years, Marks & Spencer has concentrated on selling only the best of British-made goods --brushed nylon jump suits, for example.
British-made 是英國製的意思。在made前面加上國家，就可以變成甚麼地方製造的東西。另外，手工製的則叫做handmade。家鄉菜是homemade cuisine

Country of origin: United Kingdom
Why we love it: Nothing makes slurping noodles more acceptable than sitting on the same bench as 50 other noodle slurpers.
Slurp 是一個吃麵的時候，把麵吸上來發出吱吱聲的一個動作。就像我們在吃拉麵的時候，也可以說slurping ramen。而吃麵的人可以叫做slurper。

Country of origin: Canada
Why we love it: Founded by Tim Horton, a hockey player for the Toronto Maple Leafs -- unless you're talking Bill Shatner, Canadians don't come much cooler.
Founded by 是說一個公司是由誰起家的。比方說，Microsoft is founded by Bill Gates。

Why we love it: Hilton was the first company to put TVs in its rooms. Presumably before this people just spent their time in hotel rooms staring at the space where a television should be.
Presume是推斷或是預測某些事情的動詞。Stare at something是指眼睛緊盯著看，目不轉睛的意思。也可以用來表示瞪人的意思。

Country of origin: Hong Kong
Why we love it: Why buy one bottle of Piper-Heidsieck when you get three in a handy carry pack?
Handy 是表示一個東西隨手可得或是拿在手上一點也沒有負擔的意思。
有時候我們會說 It comes handy，就表示這個東西很方便，手到擒來。

Country of origin: Mexico
Why we love it: Seeing kids freak out about their paycheck seems only fair.
Freak out 可以用來形容你被一件事情嚇到或是受到驚嚇而失控
9. Dunkin' Donuts
Country of origin: United States
Why we love it: When the airline loses your luggage or you forget to print out the hotel address and now it's 3 a.m. and you have no idea where to go, nothing consoles like a coffee and an over-sprinkled ring of baked dough.
Over-sprinkled 意思是撒太多，因為現在在講donuts，所以就是在說dunkin’ donuts的甜甜圈上，多會撒過多的糖

7. Muji
Country of origin: Japan
Why we love it: The clean design, functionality, cleanliness and hyper-tissue packaging of Tokyo, without having to go to Tokyo.
這邊的clean是表示無印良品的設計非常的乾淨，也就是我們通常會說的簡約風。Functionality 是表示他們的東西在功能上都非常完善

Country of origin: Canada
Why we love it: Riffraff-proof.
在 proof 前面加上一個東西，用來表示 “防止” 這個東西的意思。比如說防彈，子彈是bullet，防止是proof，所以防彈就是bullet-proof。防水就是water-proof。
4. Starbucks
Country of origin: United States
Why we love it: Transformed a drink that could be purchased with pocket change into a product worth almost four dollars.
Pocket change 的意思就是口袋的零錢。Change當成名詞就是零錢喔~
3. McDonald's
Country of origin: United States
Why we love it: Despite paranoia, we've yet to be accosted by employees when we drop in just to use the toilet.
Drop in 的意思是在一個地方停留短暫的時間。有時候你會跟你朋友說，我等一下到你店裡坐一下，你就可以說 I will drop in your store later

Country of origin: Taiwan
Why we love it: Transparent dumpling skin allows easy assessment of filling.

Why we love it: If you can't find one, walk around the corner. There are probably two of them there.
