今天要教的是一些常見的病症名稱。

我們將參考台灣 2009 年的十大死因。

Leading Causes of Death in Taiwan ( 2009 )

(1) malignant carcinoma ( Cancer )  =  惡性腫瘤 ( 癌症 )  --> 28.1 %

(2) heart disease  =  心臟疾病  --> 10.6 %

(3) cerebral vascular disease  =  腦血管疾病  --> 7.3 %

(4) pneumonia  =  肺炎  --> 5.9 %

(5) diabetes  =  糖尿病  --> 5.8 %

(6) accidents  =  意外事故  --> 5.2 %

(7) chronic lower respiratory diseases  =  慢性下呼吸道疾病  --> 3.5 %

(8) chronic liver disease and liver cirrhosis  =  慢性肝病 及 肝硬化  --> 3.5 %

(9) suicide  =  自殺  --> 2.9 %

(10) nephritis, nephritic syndrome and nephrosis  =  腎炎、腎徵症候群、腎病變  --> 2.8 %

討論到十大死因也應該討論國人的平均壽命。

In 2009, the life expectancy for males in Taiwan is 75.9 years.

The expectation of life for females is 82.5 years.

Do you want to live that long ?

I don't !!

Most people over 75 are ill and have little control over their lives.
